My Daily Top 10 for Full-Body Beauty, Health, and Wellness

As a Physician Assistant, I provide comprehensive dermatology services including adult, pediatric, and cosmetic dermatology. It probably won’t surprise you that my perception of beauty, and how I encourage my patients to view it, too, is a reflection of what’s happening internally- including your mental and physical health. As we all know, when we feel our best, we look our best. So it is important to consider full-body wellness and the role that your lifestyle plays in achieving healthy, glowing skin.

Many of the patients that see me for a cosmetic consultation are there because they feel as if they have aged overnight, or do not look or feel like themselves anymore. There can be a lot of emotion, anxiety and uncertainty tied into how we feel that we look.  Sometimes I am the first stop on someone’s wellness journey, hoping that a skin boost will give them the energy or motivation to start taking care of themselves.  Other times, I am the last step. When someone has taken control of their health and is now feeling their best, and they want their skin to match how they feel.

During these cosmetic consultations I always start by talking about wellness before digging into specific cosmetic concerns and treatments. Together we review diet, exercise, sleep, stress management and any other medical history. I am not a wellness coach or expert, but as a medical professional and person who values my health, I am a dedicated wellness seeker.  Wellness certainly does not require any products; the greatest things we can do for ourselves are free - sleep, rest, move, meditate, drink water, and seek healthy and nutritious foods.  But, if you are looking for other recommendations to help kick start your wellness journey - these are the top 10 things I incorporate into my lifestyle for a full-body glow that starts from within. (None of these recommendations represent paid partnerships.)

Athletic Greens AG1 nutrition supplement

Athletic Greens

AG1 is a foundation of full-body beauty, health, and wellness for me. It combines the power of multiple supplements like vitamins, probiotics, and whole food sourced nutrients into just one scoop, making it my simplest daily health habit. It truly tastes great and is very easy! As my own holistic provider says, this does not replace your vegetables, it ensures you are getting what you need.

Full Focus Planner

Full Focus Journal

The Full Focus System is all about working smarter, not harder. This is how you win at work and succeed at life. A science-backed process with proven results, you need the goal-achievement formula of the Full Focus System. I personally use the Full Focus Journal to plan rest, meditation, exercise, free think time, etc. Without this journal I would never stop working and spend a majority of my life being reactive instead of proactive.

Purity Coffee

Organic, Mold-Free, Mycotoxin-Free Coffee for health. Purity is committed to regenerative, organic farming. They lab test the coffees not only to ensure they are free of contaminants like mold and mycotoxins, but also to measure levels of coffee’s most beneficial compounds like antioxidants (chlorogenic acids-CGA and lactones-CGL), trigonelline and nutrients, and caffeine. And you *need* to check out their website if you want to geek out over clinical data. (You already know my stance on that.) I am not someone who is willing to give up coffee, but I am very happy to know my coffee is mold and mycotoxin free!

Five Minute Journal by Intelligent Change

Five Minute Journal

Beauty is truly a reflection of how we feel, and this tools makes a big difference on helping me maintain my most balanced state of mind. Even on the busiest days, spend only five minutes practicing gratitude to boost positivity, reduce anxiety, and improve well-being. This is one of my favorite gifts to give- such an easy way to stop and appreciate. Gratitude will change your perspective and your life.

Pure Encapsulation's O.N.E. Multivitamin

Pure Encapsulations O.N.E. Multivitamin

I'm a busy mom balancing my clinical duties with business ownership, and in the hustle and bustle of every day life, it can leave my diet lacking in vitamins, minerals and other nutrients. Combining a healthy diet with a comprehensive multivitamin like this one can help replenish nutrients daily for optimal health and longevity.

It provides vitamins A, B, C, D and E in highly absorbable forms and includes the naturally occurring, universally metabolized form of folate. Additional support comes from coenzyme Q10, for healthy heart function and cellular health. Nutrients such as choline, inositol, lycopene, vitamin D3, lutein, and zeaxanthin are also added for healthy cognitive function, cellular health, and eye health.

Reformer Pilates with The Daily Pilates

Pilates is well known for its ability to help you achieve lean, toned muscles, but when we look at in the context of full-body beauty, health, and wellness, it runs much deeper. In Atlanta, I'm working with Hanna Sellers of The Daily Pilates. (A queen- highly recommend if you're local!) But I'm not doing it just because I'd like to look a certain way, I do it because reformer pilates is shown to help improve balance, stability, core strength, flexibility, while reducing pain and muscle-related injuries.

Peloton Meditation App

We had a Peloton for years before I discovered this gem. I love their meditation app! You can select different length meditations depending on how much time you're able to give it in your busy schedule. In my experience, starting with guided meditation is 100% easier than trying it solo.
